Specialist teams of scientists and researchers of the Research Institute of Pulp and Paper, Inc. are now solving the following projects:
Projects implemented by calls VMSP declared by the Science and Research in Slovakia:
• The use of fiber from by-products of first-generation bioethanol.
• Analysis of fund information and create tools to make it available for research, education and forest industry workers.
• New products and technological processes of manufacturing glued laminated wood for construction.
• Use of waste calcium from milk production of acetylene to produce precipitated calcium carbonate for industrial applications.
• Special papers.
Projects implemented under the approved and provided incentives for research and development:
• Interactions of liquids with paper surface. Basic Research Project.
•  Conversion of technology of fluting production in Smurfit Kappa Štúrovo. AppliedResearch Project.

Use offiber from by-products of first generation bioethanol

Project objectives: The primary objective of the project is the optimal use of waste fibers from the stillage, which are by-products of bioethanol production is the first generation, and in the manufacture of paper and materials with high fiber content, while a secondary aim is the efficient processing and utilization of protein or other nutrients biogenic compounds from these by-products for feeding purposes. Today, these by-products either incinerated or used as feed, but without optimal pretreatment, the whole mixture of these by-products are used exclusively as feed material, or as an ingredient in compound feed.

Partialresults of the project: publications in refereed scientific journals (2) Publication in non-refereed professional journals and anthologies (1), forthcoming patent, patent applications are planned in the second half of 2011. Dissemination activities, the conference "50 YEARS OF PAPER research and teaching in Pardubice." Presentation of spectral and physico-mechanical properties of paper produced.

Project objektives: Achieving the complexity of information security in the wood processing electronisation fund information and links in the Internet environment for their own databases and databases of other institutions with similar thematic focus. The intention is to create a virtual database to optimize and streamline users' access to research, education and business environment for information.
Partial results of the project: A system of evaluation criteria of information materials and a system of tools for their classification into the base of digitized books and journals, of systems access digitized information materials, which can in many workers at once the material viewed through a local network of the institute. Electronic processing and modification of some 12,000 pages of text, images and tables. Converting his own base ADIS CELP system to MARC 21, which is compatible with the introduction of the Library - Information System FEZ / Fedora.
